Promotions Committee
If downtown is to survive, its image must be improved. Promoting and marketing
a downtown district, just like a shopping mall might, can help to attract customers
and investors to the downtown and increase downtown and community economic viability.
Goal:
To develop a comprehensive and consistent calendar of events that promotes
a positive image of the central business district as a gathering spot for retail,
social and cultural events.
Objectives:
1. Expand on current successful events and create new ones.
2. Develop an image to enhance positive perceptions of downtown.
3. Promote the history and heritage of the central business district and the
historic Court House.
4. Encourage support and participation of all business and service entities.
5. Seek funding sources to aid in expanding the promotional calendar.
